Consumer trends here and overseas show growing preference for lower alcohol beverages including wine. So FREEMAN Vineyards has decided to invest in the NoLo to mid-strength wine space. The first stage will be the establishment of a dealcoholisation production facility in the NSW Hilltops. Yes it’s a big project that’s set to unfold over the next two years.

FREEMAN Vineyards  has been awarded a matched $2 million grant through the NSW Government’s Agriculture Industries Innovation and Growth Program to establish what will be the first wine dealcoholisation facility in NSW.

The project represents a major regional investment in innovative technology, enabling wine to be fermented, dealcoholised and bottled ready for market in the NSW Hilltops. FREEMAN will in time offer contract services to other wine companies seeking to enter this beverage sector to support growing consumer interest in healthy lifestyles and lower alcohol wine.

‘Consumers are increasingly looking for premium low- and no-alcohol wines without compromising on quality. This investment allows us to meet that demand through innovation and value-adding here in regional New South Wales,’ commented Marcelle Freeman.

But rest assured the award-winning FREEMAN portfolio continues to be crafted from estate grown grapes and fermented traditionally!
