Gourmet Traveller Wine has recently announced its annual Australian Best Cellar Door Awards.
And we’re chuffed to announce that FREEMAN Vineyards has been chosen STAR CELLAR DOOR and BEST TASTING EXPERIENCE in the Hilltops region. Our Cellar Door tastings are relaxed and personal and hosted in the rustic cellar door. Open fire in winter. Vineyard views. All current releases offered. The bespoke tastings are offered FREE including a complimentary cheese/ charcuterie plate. Only available by prior appointment.
FREEMAN Vineyards has been a regular stallholder at Carriageworks Farmers Market since its inception in February 2007. It’s been our Sydney Cellar Door for 15 years and we have made countless friends, even selling bottles for breakfast! But the time has come…after a rather challenging vintage…to pull down the banner on Saturday mornings. We will miss the chats, meeting new babies (and seeing them grow), admiring new pups, swapping restaurant recommendations, recipes and debating hot community topics. We will miss the Carriageworks family a lot.
So we look forward to seeing you at the Cellar Door soon. Open by appointment 7 days. Email: sales@freemanvineyards.com.au
The FREEMAN portfolio is available from several independent Sydney wine stores.
FREEMANCellar Door has re-opened for wine tastings. All our tastings are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY and seated in the rustic Tasting Room or on the shady verandah with vineyard views. We can welcome up to 6 guests per tasting and offer a complimentary cheese and charcuterie plate to accompany the portfolio selection.
Or you can order your favourite FREEMAN wines and CLICK & COLLECT letting us know when you will be calling by so we can pop them in the boot.
ALL online ORDERS (Over $100) include FREE DELIVERY!
At FREEMAN Vineyards we specialise in crafting wines from Italian origin varieties. Our intimate rustic Cellar Door is open by appointment to wine explorers keen to learn more about Italian style wines – think Prosecco, Pinot Grigio, Sangiovese, Nebbiolo to name a few in our prestige portfolio…
Our free Tastings are usually hosted by winemaker Brian Freeman, an ex-wine professor who is passionate about Italian style wines. The tasting session takes about an hour.
Our Cellar Door Covid Safe Plan requests all visitors respect prevailing health orders and not travel if you are experiencing any symptoms.
The stellar team at Pendolino Restaurant – chef Nino Zoccali and sommelier Cristian Casarin – are showcasing NSW Italian varietal wines at their Sydney Good Food Month 2020 NSWCoolClimateWineDinner.
The exciting Aussie Italo wines featuring at this event are from… (drum roll) 5-Star FREEMAN (Hilltops) and Tertini Wines (Southern Highlands).
Winemaker Brian Freeman will introduce his selected brace: FREEMAN Fortuna Pinot Grigio Plus, FREEMAN Nebbiolo, FREEMAN Secco Rondinella Corvina and FREEMAN Dolcino.
So if you fancy a buon gusto night out that includes Veal Agnolotti paired with dual Nebbiolos and Duck Magret with two rare savoury Italo-inspired reds, hit the booking button… It’s time for a convivial night out…
Along with relaxation of intra-state travel FREEMAN Cellar Door has re-opened for bespoke tastings from our mostly Italian varietal inspired portfolio.
To comply with public health precautions we are limiting each visiting group size to four adults for seated tastings at the big table in our small cellar space. We apologise if this limit may cause inconvenience and are happy to offer back-back tastings if you have a larger group.
If you should be in our region and care to phone through an order before passing by, we will be very happy for you to collect pre-ordered wines from the Cellar Door.
Despite these arrangements please consider delaying a visit if you are feeling unwell, have had known contact with someone with Covid-19 or have recently returned from overseas. At FREEMAN we take both your (and our) health seriously. We have a registered Covid Safety Plan.
Please do call 0417 733715 if you would like to order wines.
When this is all over…
Remember the vineyard is 90 mins or so west of central Canberra, between Young and Harden.
Look for the Prunevale sign when driving along Kingsvale Rd…cross the defunct railway line, turn sharp right and you’ll spot the winery on the left. We look forward to welcoming you when our lives get back on track.
